Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is a British-American sitarist and musician. She was also the first and youngest woman to win the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was one of the Indian young sitar artist. She is both the daughter and pupil of Ravi Shankar. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. Her early years were split in London as well as New Delhi. In the age of thirteen she staged her debut performance on stage in New Delhi. When she moved to Encinitas the state of California, in 1999 she earned a high-school degree. Although she is still very young Anouskha is a star in her performing and recording record. She has been accompanying her father in the stage for a long time. In 1998, she released Anourag as her debut solo record. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Her stage career is very broad as she's performed in most of the major stages in the world. Her career doesn't just include music. She published Bapi The love of my life in 2002. This is a picture biographical work that is a tribute to her dad Ravi Shankar. Also, in films in 2003 she played the role in the film Dance Like a Man where she is a young Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka shankar is a rising superstar and her fame will continue to grow. Anoushka was raised in England and spent a lot of her childhood in between London and Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and went to the high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration she made her debut performing the sitar before the crowd of just four years after her 9-year-old father. Anoushka was a part of her father during his world tour, gained an incredible quantity of knowledge. As a teenager, she performed in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. Her artistry and musicianship was recognised by British parliament as among the finest of the best in Asian Arts.
